    Job Summary

    The Substation Leadman supervises and assists with the day-to-day activities of the substation employees and the project to which they are assigned, reports directly to Foreman assigned to the project. Leadman must be able to perform the various duties while on the job from Groundman to Journeyman

    Responsibilities

    • Supervise and coordinate all construction activities.

    • Direct, coach and guide all staff assigned to the project.

    • Ensure project materials and workmanship meets the project quality standards and design requirements.

    • Review and address plan details, resolve issues before they result in added budget expenditures.

    • Advise Foreman of any potential problems, work interferences or schedule difficulties while assisting in circumventing/resolving such conflicts.

    • Enforce site specific plans and procedures that are in line with EEI's culture and safety requirements; adheres to EEI's Safety First Culture.

    • Shows commitment to EEI's Safety culture through personal behavior and willingness to influence others.

    • Understands and complies with Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.

    • Maintain the project's daily job diary.

    • A working knowledge of computer operations and programs.

    • Other tasks as assigned by Management.

    Qualifications

    • OSHA 30.

    • Obtain and maintain a valid State Class A driver's license and/or hold and maintain a valid Commercial Driver's License.

    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.

    • Ability to carry up to 50 pounds.

    • Ability to work on ladders and hydraulic lifts.

    • Ability to learn how to operate construction equipment and use hand tools.

    • Ability to work within a physically demanding work environment.

    • Physical activity including extended periods of standing and walking, frequent sitting, kneeling, bending, crouching, reaching, stopping and climbing.

    • Work is primary preformed both indoor and outdoor environments in all/extreme weather conditions.

    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Excel, Word, Outlook and internal operational systems.

    • Ability to lead and assess trade performance on the job.

    • Ability to apply basic engineering principles to construction challenges.

    • Ability to visualize the entire project and anticipate constructability issues and embed solutions in the construction plans and schedules.

    • Can visualize and create the project schedule's critical path.

    • Ability to schedule, monitor and forecast resources for optimum efficiency.

    • Ability to manage others and many facets of the construction project and assume responsibility.

    • Understands when to seek out professional advice.
