L3Harris has approximately $18 billion in annual revenue and 48,000 employees, with customers in more than 100 countries.Description:Shipboard Electrician CWe are currently seeking a Shipboard Electrician for our Norfolk, VA location.Responsibilities/Duties:+ Detailed knowledge of the principles of instrumentation, assembly, alignment and checkout of electrical electronic systems.+ Installs, operates, maintains, repairs, and modifies equipment to include switchboards, load centers, and various types of circuit breakers.+ Experience interpreting and working from blueprints, drawings, manuals, and other technical specifications.+ Performs a variety of maintenance and technical support on products such as equipment, integrated systems and subsystems at customer site and field locations. Analyzes and evaluates products and related performance.+ Troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctions to eliminate problems in minimum time.+ Maintains effective customer communications and relations.+ Troubleshoots technical problems and issues, determines technical solution in accordance with product and customer specifications, and recommends actions not limited to: Install, modify, test, repair, overhaul, and removal of electrical and electronic equipment.+ Troubleshoot AQB and ACB circuit breakers from various manufacturers, switchgear equipment, and current transducers.+ Conduct various electrical tests using multimeters, meggers, hipot, millivolt, and current injection set.Qualifications:+ Shipboard electronic/electrical technician experience in either US Navy or ship repair facility to include the maintenance, installation, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic and electrical equipment.+ Experience in connecting, power panels, switchgear, high density connection boxes, transformers, circuit breakers, daisy chain, solder ferells, and other electrical equipment.+ Be proficient in the use of test equipment.+ Conduct J-Standard soldering,+ Must be qualified in accordance with NAVSEA Standard Item 009-73 for Connector fabrication to include RF and copper connectorization of multi-pin cannon plugs, DB connectors, RF connectors, and CAT 5 and CAT 6 ethernet connections.+ Must be qualified in accordance with NAVSEA Standard Item 009-123 for fiber optic connectors to included, ST, MT, and multi-pin connectors.+ Must be willing to travel for out of town projects.+ Must have tools of the trade.+ Must have a Secret Clearance+ Must be a U.S. CitizenPlease be aware many of our positions require the ability to obtain a security clearance.
