    Pay rate is $42.56 per hour

    Summary/General Description Of Job:

    Incumbent uses various tools, testing instruments and equipment to install, inspect, repair, maintain, adjust and troubleshoot various pieces of electrical equipment.

    Essential Duties & Job Functions:

    • Performs a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy.

    • Installs or repairs any of a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment.

    • Works from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications.

    • Locates and diagnoses trouble in the electrical system or equipment.

    • Works standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.

    • Uses a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments.

    • Work of the maintenance electrician requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.

    • Troubleshoots and evaluates electrical systems.

    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    • May perform work in other classifications when incidental work is necessary to the accomplishment of the work assignment. Significant work in another job classification may be required if accompanied by any wage adjustments applicable.

    Accountable For

    • The proper use of tools and equipment commonly used in the Electrical Maintenance field.

    • Completing all mandated training requirements per government and management directives.

    • Timely and cost effective performance of duties.

    • Timely completion and accuracy of all departmental work.

    • Dealing with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.

    • Adherence to established company safety policies and good industrial and office safety practices.

    • Compliance with company Standard Operating Procedures and Personnel policies and procedures.

    • Having the ability to work well under pressure.

    Here's what you'll need :

    Job Requirements (Education, Experience, Professional Associations): Mandatory

    • Four (4) years' experience in electrical maintenance work.

    • Ability to read blueprints, bend conduits, troubleshoot, repair motors and controls, and install and repair AC and DC equipment.

    • Ability to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of switches, transformers, and transformer hook-ups.

    • Must have ability to work on electrical equipment located at various heights

    • Must obtain and maintain required explosives certifications when assigned to ordnance operations.

    • Must have and maintain hand tools of the trade to perform the normal work of the classifications.

    • Ability to troubleshoot equipment.

    • Ability to meet and maintain company physical and security requirements, including respirator qualification, and clearance eligibility when required.

    • Must possess good communication skills for a service team environment.

    • Valid state driver's license with acceptable driving record.

    • Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract

    • U.S. Citizenship.

    Candidates for positions at the Naval Hospital facility must prove immunity to tetanus, measles, Rubella (a.k.a. German Measles or Three Day Measles) and mumps by providing, prior to employment, physician-signed documentation of either immunization (vaccine) or antibody titer (blood test); and evidence of a TB (tuberculosis) test within the past year.

    Wages -$42.56 per hr
