Laborer Apprentice

Kubricky Construction Corp., a leader in today's civil construction industry is looking for a Laborer Apprentice to join our growing team. As a member of the D.A. Collins Family of Companies, you will become a valued member of a family owned and operated company that prioritizes safety above all and does a variety of work including, but not limited to, heavy highway construction, bridge building and remediation and dam rehabilitation. You will gain vast construction experience and have opportunities to grow within the company.

Apprenticeship is the process of learning a skilled occupation through:

• Paid on-the-job training-apprentices train under the guidance of experienced journey workers

• Related classroom training

Essential Functions of the Laborer Position :

• Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in heavy highway construction projects; be able to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods of time, stretch, walk, climb and bend under potentially adverse field conditions. Be able to follow safety protocols which includes being able to perform visual tasks such as backup spotting and be able to hear and react to back up alarms.

• Following safety rules, regulations and procedures is mandatory.

• Perform selected demolition and removal of various surface materials, fixtures and other construction debris.

• Maintain a clean job site: pick up all tools and equipment and secure job site each day to eliminate potential hazards.

• Perform material handling and storage

• Load and unload trucks and haul and hoist materials

• The candidate must be willing to work long hours when required, some weekends and possible night work.

• Be flexible and able to take and follow orders in an independent or group setting.

• Have the ability to work in extreme weather conditions

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 18 years of age.

• Must be in reasonably good health. Certification as to physical condition will be obtained from a physician prior to employment. The applicant shall evidence a reasonable amount of intelligence so as to handle the technical requirements of the job.

• The applicant shall evidence a reasonable amount of aptitude and interest in the craft.

• The applicant for training shall be selected without regard to race, color, religion, age, marital status, arrest records, sex, sexual orientation, or national origin.

• All applicants must pass a drug and alcohol-screening test

• Must have a valid driver's license or reliable transportation to report to work on time

Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, market conditions, education/training, certifications and other credentials, overtime when applicable, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
