    Position Description:

    Heavy equipment operators are responsible for the inspection, operation, and maintenance of heavy construction machinery including, but not limited to, cranes, dozers, track loaders, rubber tire loaders, track backhoes, rubber tire backhoes, motor graders, trucks, and compaction equipment. This is a safety sensitive position.

    Position Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma or GED.

    • A valid operator certification.

    • Valid Driver's License.

    • Follow safe work practices in accordance with the Hensel Phelps safety and health program.

    • Experience with a wide variety of heavy construction machinery.

    • Knowledge of heavy construction equipment maintenance.

    • Must be able to take initiative.

    • Possess a keen attention to detail and be able to follow instructions.

    • Workers must provide their own safety footwear.

    • Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally.

    • Strong mathematical reasoning and quantitative skills.

    • Must be reliable and punctual.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experienced in construction layout, blueprint reading and shop drawing reading.

    • OSHA 10 Certification.

    • CPR & First Aid Certification.

    Essential Duties:

    • Operate heavy construction machinery including, but not limited to, cranes, dozers, track loaders, rubber tire loaders, track backhoes, rubber tire backhoes, motor graders, trucks, and compaction equipment.

    • Continuously monitor the condition of the equipment to ensure it's operationally ready at all times.

    • Perform maintenance work on equipment such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning.

    • Inspect and document service on heavy equipment.

    • Ensure that equipment is clean, serviced, and stored at shift completion.

    • Follow and comply with all safety policies.

    • Promote a safe work environment and communicates jobsite hazards.
