Engineering Technician

This opportunity will be great for anyone looking to move out of a labor based role, and more into a technical/reporting position!

Seeking Engineering Technician/Civil Quality Assurance (CQA) Tech. This individual will be traveling to various landfills to perform on-site documentation/recording of daily activities and verifying that the work completed is accurate and correct.

Responsibilities

• Construction monitoring and documentation of construction activities at solid waste landfill facilities including: field inspection and testing of soils and geosynthetic liners. On-site job training will be provided as necessary.

• Preparing daily reports and attending daily meetings regarding project progress.

• Responsible for assuring overall compliance with all applicable project specifications and construction drawings.

• Good communication, writing, and organization skills necessary.

• Must be self starting and willing to work independently as well as in a team environment.

• Travel is required with expenses covered for out of town assignments.

• Must be willing to work up to 6-7 days per week with overtime anticipated during busy construction season.

These individuals could be assigned to a job site for up to 2 weeks at a time. They could also expect to work up to 20-30 hours of overtime each week.

Must Haves

• Familiarity with construction specs

• Ability to write daily/weekly reports

• Attention to detail

• Willingness to travel and be away from home

• Good communication skills

Nice to Have

• Nuclear Gauge/density certification

• Landfill construction experience

• Associates degree

• ACI Certification

-Soils laboratory coursework and interest/experience in construction is a definite plus.
