    Job Summary:

    AID is looking for an Electrician - Power Production to work at Keesler AFB, MS.

    Responsibilities

    Job Responsibilities:

    This position performs work related to the installation, maintenance, generation, distribution or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy. Responsible for the equipment and tools necessary to perform such work. Plans, coordinates, and works all activities associated within scope of a power production electrician to include all repairs and maintenance.

    • Installs, removes, and operates electrical power generating and control systems, automatic transfer switches, and associated equipment.

    • Positions equipment such as gasoline, and diesel engines; generators; switchgears; and other power generating auxiliary equipment.

    • Checks installed equipment to ensure compliance with publications, policies, and directives.

    • Inspects, tests,and services component systems such as safety, fuel, lubrication, cooling, air pressure, pumps, regulators, governors, and accessory equipment.

    • Observes and interprets instruments such as ammeters, voltmeters, frequency meters, temperature and pressure and engine oil, fuel, and coolant gauges.

    • Adjusts engine generator systems to maintain proper voltage, current frequency, and synchronization.

    • Performs electrical power control and distribution functions.

    • Maintains, modifies, and repairs electrical power generating and control systems, automatic transfer switches.

    • Performs inspections and interprets findings to determine corrective action.

    • Identifies and records engine and generator malfunctions.

    • Removes, repairs, and replaces defective power generating equipment components.

    • Reviews performance data and maintenance records to determine adequacy of maintenance.

    • Reviews and advises on projects associated with electrical power generating and control systems

    • Reviews layout drawings and wiring diagrams.

    • Posts entries on operation, inspection, and maintenance records.

    • Works standard computations relating to load requirements of writing and electrical equipment

    • Maintains required operating forms and records and assures proper use of all assigned shop equipment

    • Performs other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Licensed as a journeyman electrician or military equivalent

    • Minimum of three (3) years of experience as an electrician working with generator systems

    • Knowledge of NEC, NESC, IEEE, and ANSI standards

    • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent

    • Valid driver license

    • Must be able to pass a favorable national agency check (NAC)
