    GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.

    • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.

    • Test electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.

    • Use a variety of tools or equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment, such as oscilloscopes, ammeters, or test lamps.

    • Repair and install electrical devices such as receptacles, light fixtures, light switches, lighting ballast, motors, etc.

    • Assists in keeping building common and electrical spaces in a neat, orderly and safe condition.

    • Accomplishes work in accordance with blueprints and specifications, and national and local codes. Updates as-built drawings as necessary, according to department policies.

    • Attend Tool Box safety meetings and demonstrate safety competency in addition to any other recommended topics such as harassment prevention, ethics, etc.

    • Obtain an OSHA 10 General Industry Safety and Health standards certification.

    • Extended hours or weekend overtime may be available.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required, depending on position.

    • High School diploma or GED required.

    • Knowledge of the electrical construction industry and the National Electrical Code and design are desirable but not necessary.

    • Valid Driver's License.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Must have the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in English, cooperate, and collaborate with multiple levels of customers, employees.

    Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to commute to field locations and various job sites. The employee must have the ability to navigate around job site locations.
