ABOUT THE ROLE:

Holcim US, a leading supplier of quality, construction building materials in the United States, has immediate openings for two Dozer Operators to support operations at the the Chase Quarry in Middle River, Baltimore County, MD. This position will be responsible for safe operation of machines, maintenance, and upkeep of equipment safe operation of machines, maintenance, and upkeep of equipment. Also maintain to perform various tasks (e.g. excavating, moving and grading dirt, etc.).

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

• Operate graders for leveling and operates tractors to load materials such as dirt and rocks

• Performing equipment maintenance duties such as cleaning, greasing and oiling machines

• Adjusts hand levers and depresses pedals to operate equipment and control attachments such as blades, buckets, and swing booms

• Discussing plans for the day's work with field manager, reviews blueprints if necessary and determines best method of getting assigned work done safely, accurately, and on time

• Making judgments regarding the most efficient operations of equipment and attachments

• Complying with Holcim polices including but not limited to: Equipment repair / maintenance procedures and Operator Safety Standards

• Driving or controlling heavy equipment to complete tasks at the construction site

• Monitoring performance and adjusting settings as required to perform tasks correctly

• Tracking scheduled maintenance of equipment and notifying their Supervisor if maintenance is past due

• Filling out performance records to report problems with equipment and track where and when it was used

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• Minimum two years of experience operating dozers

• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen

• Strong communication skills

• Ability to follow directions

• Strong problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently

• High attention to detail

• Required Computer and Software Skills: Basic computer skills

• Ability to work in all weather conditions without limitations.

• Ability to lift 50lbs

• Reliable transportation

• Licenses Required: N/A

Additional Requirements:

Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
