    Job Type : Full-Time +, Non-Exempt

    Pay : $25.00 - $40.00 Based on Experience

    Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

    • Install electrical and traffic signal conduit and casings.

    • Operate Horizontal Directional Drill.

    • Assist in potholing and remediation.

    • Assist with setting hand holes and completing tie-ins.

    • Drive equipment to job site.

    • Set equipment up including the drill, water tanks and grounding the machine.

    • Drill out following the predetermined drill path to the exit pit.

    • Assist with the installation of proper pulling gear and hook-up product.

    • Reverse process to install product.

    • Oversee laborers and/or crew members' work and monitor time usage.

    • Conduct post-job quality checks.

    • Clean, check fluid levels and conduct a visual inspection of vehicle/equipment to assure your vehicle/equipment is performing at optimum safety, perform the required pre-trip, post trip inspections and the required paperwork, perform needed maintenance including winterizing equipment.

    • Communicates with Supervisor daily to turn in required paperwork (i.e., Bore log, vehicle maintenance reports, etc.).

    • Follows specifications for the job and company policies.

    • Complies with safety/operating procedures while driving/operating at the job site.

    • Strives for optimal production while working safely and performing quality work that meets or exceeds company and customer work requirements.

    • Assist with on-site work duties.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Must be 18 years-of-age or older.

    • Strong knowledge of underground utilities.

    • Working knowledge of DOT regulations (Vehicle and Operator Qualifications).

    • Ability to understand and comply with the "Operator's Manual" for the equipment.

    • Ability to understand and follow all quality/safety policies and procedures.

    • Ability to work in all types of weather.

    • Knowledge of underground potholing is preferred.

    • Excellent organizational skills with careful attention to detail and timely follow-through.

    • Must be self-directed and capable of handling multiple tasks with minimal supervision.

    • Able to work effectively in stressful, time-sensitive environments.

    Education & Experience

    • Minimum of 2 years of professional Horizontal Directional Drilling experience.

    Pre-Screen

    • Upon offer, employees may be required to subject and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background and/or MVR check.

    License & Certifications:

    • Valid driver's license required.

    Physical Requirements

    • RARE (less than 10%): Climbing poles, color vision.

    • OCCASIONAL (up to 33%): Sitting, kneeling, crawling, climbing ladders, balancing, lifting up to 50lbs.

    • FREQUENT (up to 66%): Stooping, squatting, sense of touch, climbing on/off truck, gripping, reaching, range of motion, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing stairs, lifting over 10lbs to 50lbs.

    • CONTINUOUS (up to 100%): Standing, walking, body twisting, manual dexterity, speaking clearly, seeing distant, seeing, reading, hearing - speech range, lifting up to 10lbs.

    Due to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must have sufficient eyesight to judge distance/coordination of equipment and tools, be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time, be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, be able to wear personal protective equipment as necessary, be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day, have the endurance necessary to traverse various terrain, be capable of performing job duties throughout a standard 8- or 10-hour day, be able to communicate with others, read, write, and comprehend written/verbal job instructions and information, and communicate and handle conflict professionally.
