  • SUMMARY

    The Construction Tribal Liaison assists Tribal Citizens and Tribal eligible employees related to required applicant documents to be ready for job placement with contracting and services companies performing work at Gun Lake Casino for the Match-E-Be-Nash-She-Wish Tribe. The Construction Tribal Liaison works closely with the designated Tribal Council Construction Liaison.

    ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION

    High School Diploma or GED

    Associate degree in business administration preferred

    EXPERIENCE

    • Two (2) years of administrative work, guest service work, or related experience.

    • One (1) year of working with Excel and Word preferred.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    • Must be 21+ years of age.

    • Must be a Tribal Citizen, tribal spouse, or custodial parent of tribal children.

    • Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Employees, and Management in both written and verbal forms.

    • Proven knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

    • Demonstrated ability to handle and maintain confidential information.

    • Must be flexible, able to handle multiple tasks, and establish priorities effectively.

    • Must utilize critical-thinking skills to work independently and make decisions without direct supervision.

    • Demonstrated ability to function in a fast-paced environment, under short time constraints, and within established guidelines.

    • Ability to handle Guest opportunities positively and professionally while demonstrating sound judgment and mature decision-making.

    • Must be able to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, which includes days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

    • Maintain positive and effective working relationships with applicants, contractors, employees, and guests.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Recruit and assist eligible Tribal employees for job placement with on-site contractors.

    • Establish an excellent working rapport with Tribal Citizens, other Tribal workers, employers, contractors, and unions at project job sites.

    • Coordinate interviews with contractors and prospective laborers.

    • Communicate appointments such as drug screens, physicals, and, etc.

    • Communicate requirements for clothing, tools, and safety equipment needed.

    • Document relevant certifications.

    • Follow up on claims of accuracy of paycheck hours and rates.

    • Attend pre-award meetings for contractor bidding.

    • Routine and ad-hoc reporting to Tribal Gaming Authority, Construction Managers, and Union Representatives on labor requirements, safety, training, etc.

    • Maintain strict confidentiality in all matters and keep records and files confidential.

    • Manage and Report on contractor expenses.

    • Maintain internal databases.

    • Keep employee records (both physical and electronic).

    • Handle queries from employees, contractors, and the Tribal Gaming Authority.

    • Update the Tribal Liaison manual to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures.

    • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
