The Canadian Resources District conducts its operations through Construction Kiewit Cie and Peter Kiewit Sons Co., subsidiaries of Kiewit Corporation. We perform work from Newfoundland to Manitoba to Quebec and in the Northwest Territories. We work in the power, mining, hydroelectric and wind power industries.
Responsibilities
We currently have an opening as a Training Coordinator. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager and working closely with Craft Trainers (heavy equipment operators, carpenters, etc.), the Training Coordinator will ensure that employees are trained such that the work is performed efficiently and according to safety standards as well as jobsite and company objectives.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
o Establishing priorities in terms of employee training requirements with jobsite Construction Managers and Trainers
o Assisting the Trainers to set up courses.
o Coordinating and informing employees' immediate supervisors of scheduled training
o Liaising with trainers, employees and jobsite supervisors
o Ensuring implementation of course logistics such as planning training schedules, notifying employees, reserving rooms and required material, etc.
o Following up and evaluating the smooth running of training activities and making modifications if necessary.
Qualifications
o Have a minimum of 10 years experience, including 3 years of experience in a similar position
o Be familiar with the construction sector
o Have a solid experience with aboriginal communities
o Be able to work independently as well as in a team setting
o Possess organizational and time-management skills
o Demonstrate sound judgement
o Have strong computer proficiency skills in MS Office and other software programs
o Fluency in English (spoken and written). French will be considered an asset.
