Description

We are presently seeking an experiencedMEP Inspector/QAto join us inHampton,VAto provideoverall project management, leadership, and coordination as the lead, on-site construction management firm representative for a new 72,000 SF government administrative office building worth approximately $25M in theHampton,Virginiaarea.

DETAILED JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The project is being constructed using the design-build form of contract. As a lead member of the construction management team, the incumbent serves as an owner’s representative on behalf of GSA and the end-user Federal Agency.

Specific duties include day-to-day coordination and interface with the general contractor’s quality control team, the owner’s inspectors, and others; quality management including preparation and implementation of a project quality management plan; safety management encompassing reviews of the contractor’s safety program and jobsite safety conditions; and risk management as a tool to identify and mitigate project risks.

The incumbent reports to a Project Manager who will be located inWashington,DC. The on-site team will consist of the (incumbent) Project Engineer, a general QA Rep, an MEP QA, and an Admin/Document Control Specialist. Off-site team members will include a Project Executive, Project Manager, Scheduler, Cost Estimator, Commissioning Agent, Contracts Specialist, and IT Professional.

Requirements:

* Must have a minimum of10years experience in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing inspection on construction projects
* The inspector shall have demonstrated ability related to the area of work under this contract including oral and written communication that is clear and concise, an understanding of contract documents such as specifications and drawings, interpretation of contract documents, and problem solving ability
* Four year college degree is preferred, in engineering, architecture, or construction management
* Experience with Prolog, Expedition, or other project management software is very helpful
* A security clearance is not required; however, the candidate must pass a limited scope security screening
